1 Case of Full-term Delivery of Cervical Incompetence Patient Treated with Traditional Korean Medicine

Abstract
|
|
|
Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to report the effect of Korean medical treatment on a patient diagnosed as cervical incompetence.
Methods: The patient who experienced abortion and pre-term deliveries was suggested cervical cerclage. However, The patient who suffering from cervical incompetence treated with vaginal progesterone and Korean medical treatment by herbal medication(Antae-um-gami, Bojungikgi-tang-gami, Dalsaeng-san-gami).
Results: After 4 weeks of the Korean medical treatment, the clinical symptoms of cervical incompetence was begun to reduce, and the patient was delivered in 40+5/7weeks.
Conclusions: The case report shows that Korean medical treatment can be effective in treating cervical incompetence. In addition, this report implies Koran medical treatment can be an alternative option to cervical cerclage.
